Terms of Service

This is a legal agreement between you and Tegaru. By creating an account and using our AI-powered study platform, you agree to these terms. If you are not old enough to legally agree to this document, please have a parent or guardian agree on your behalf. If you don't agree, please don't use our service.

Tegaru is an AI study platform serving hundreds of users. We help you create flashcards from documents using Google Gemini AI, access dozens of community-created flashcard decks, and use spaced repetition for effective learning. Free users get 1 document upload. Premium subscriptions are processed via Stripe.

You authenticate via Google OAuth or email. You're responsible for your account security and all activities under your account. You can update your display name and manage your data through profile settings. As we offer free services, we may need to periodically manage inactive accounts to keep costs manageable.

By uploading or entering any material, you assert that it does not contain: content you don't have intellectual property rights to use; content designed to subvert software/hardware functionality; content that is illegal in your jurisdiction. When sharing community decks, ensure content doesn't contain offensive material, pornography, hate speech, or libel.

When you share a deck publicly, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to make it available to users. When you download shared decks, you receive a personal-use license only - redistribution requires explicit permission from the copyright holder. Shared decks are provided by third parties and we offer no warranty for them.

You retain ownership of your uploaded documents and created flashcards. Tegaru owns the platform code and features. If you believe someone has violated your intellectual property rights in shared content, please contact us with evidence. Making false reports may expose you to legal action.

Premium subscriptions are processed via Stripe. Payments are charged in advance and auto-renew until cancelled. You can cancel anytime through your account settings. No refunds except as required by law. We reserve the right to suspend or remove access at our sole discretion.

Use Tegaru responsibly: don't upload copyrighted content without permission, don't share inappropriate content in community decks, don't attempt to reverse-engineer our AI processing, and don't violate others' privacy. If you fail to comply with these terms, we may suspend or remove your account. If your actions were illegal, we may report you to authorities.

We may modify these terms at any time and will notify you via website message, sync notification, or email. In the event of company acquisition, restructure, or bankruptcy, we may transfer these rights and obligations to the new legal entity.

Use of the service is at your own risk. While we endeavor to ensure data integrity, ultimately the responsibility is yours. Please keep local backups for safety. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED 'AS IS'. WHEN ALLOWED BY LOCAL LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE MAKE NO WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR FREE OR THAT ACCESS WILL BE CONTINUOUS OR UNINTERRUPTED.

TO THE EXTENT NOT PROHIBITED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY GENERAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL OR OTHER DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, INCORRECT DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR ANY OTHER DAMAGES OR LOSSES INCURRED BY YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE THIS SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, AND REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.

You can delete your account anytime, which removes all your data. We may suspend accounts for terms violations but will notify you first when possible. Upon termination, you lose access but retain copies of data you've exported. We will provide your information to third parties when required by law.
